Scripture:
“The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped.” (Psalm 28:7)
“Train yourself for godliness; for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way…” (1 Timothy 4:7–8)
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” (1 Peter 4:10)
Reflection:
Martial arts teaches us discipline, control, and strength. But true mastery is not found in how hard we strike, but in how deeply we serve. Strength without humility becomes pride, but strength surrendered to God becomes a blessing. Just as we drill movements daily, so must we train our hearts in godliness—learning patience, kindness, forgiveness, and courage.
Jesus calls us not only to become strong warriors but also to become humble servants. The greatest victory is not defeating an opponent but overcoming selfishness. When we use our strength to protect, uplift, and serve our community, we reflect Christ, who gave His strength on the cross for us all.
Prayer:
“Lord, thank You for the strength You’ve given me. Help me train not only my body but my spirit. Keep me humble, so my skills never bring pride but always serve others. Show me how to use every gift to build up my community and glorify You. Amen.”
